Der Song “The Day I Loved You Most” erzählt von einer zerbrochenen Freundschaft oder Beziehung und den Prozess, diesen Schmerz zu verarbeiten. Makeda möchte sich lieber an die schönen Momente erinnern, statt Wut und Trauer nachzugeben. “I’ll forgive you even if I shatter” ist die Kernaussage der Ballade. “Ich vergebe dir, auch wenn es mich zerbricht.” Es ist ein hoffnungsvoller Gedanke, der Mut machen soll, die Vergangenheit wertschätzend hinter sich zu lassen.
